In the shade of the trees: a modern garden with a fountain

When you recharge your batteries in your own garden and create wonderful memories

This garden enchants with its impressive trees, natural materials and the gentle splashing of the fountain. With your eyes closed, you can take in nature, hear the breeze blowing through the bushes and the birds chirping. This garden with its incredible charm shows how differences in height can be harmoniously incorporated into the design of an outdoor area.

Before the garden redesign

Some elements were already present in the garden. In order to create a coherent overall concept, some of the existing elements were incorporated and some replaced. The different levels and areas were linked together to create a new experience when walking through the garden.

In the shadows of the trees

Thanks to the careful redesign, this garden shines in new splendor. The playful planting around the paths lends structure and looseness at the same time. Even in front of the house, the magnificent planting gives you an idea that this garden must be something special. The plants have been arranged in the middle of the garden in curved lines, softening the atmosphere and giving the garden a lively dynamic. The paths are accompanied by a sea of grasses. In between, mystical trees reach for the sky and create a very special sense of space.

Different levels for dividing up space in the garden

New levels with wooden decking were created to compensate for the differences in height in the garden. These are connected to each other by wooden paths or stepping stones.

The heart of the garden is right next to the house, so that the garden directly extends the living room. The treetops create a green roof that cools the garden on hot summer days with a wonderful play of shade.

A step between the trees leads to the lounge area by the fountain. This connects the two levels and forms the center of the garden. This gradation creates a new division of the areas in the design. From the step, the water flows directly into the shimmering fountain. The splashing creates a wonderful background noise. The acoustic element completes the garden and harmoniously rounds off the overall concept.

The interplay between plants & garden design

The imposing wooden deck, which follows straight lines, contrasts with the curved planting. A gravel path was laid between the green grasses, which is broken up by stepping stones. In the fall, the feather bristle grass makes its grand entrance. In contrast, the purple coneflower and lavender create a colorful symphony in summer and stand out strongly against the green grasses.

The large number of trees in this garden is particularly striking. Their crowns act as a protective blanket and enhance the magical feeling of the outdoor space. Existing trees have found a new place in this garden, creating elegant visual relationships.

The many leaves of the trees and the grasses move together in the wind and, together with the fountain, create a unique ambience. The harmonious interplay of the different elements in the garden design has created a place where you can recharge your batteries and create new memories with family and friends.
