Terrace with fountain
The spatial structure of this terrace was divided into two main areas: One area is semi-shaded and contains lawn, hydrangeas and a small strip of slabs for a bistro table.
The other area is a pure slab surface with a water basin and a natural stone wall rising up behind it. The water flows gently over this natural stone wall directly into the water basin and makes a soft rippling sound. The pool and wall are made of one piece and are skilfully set off by two maples. The high hedge blocks out the surroundings so that the focus is on the terrace and the fountain remains the highlight. This second area also forms the dining area, whereas the first area is more for sunbathing and lounging.
Connection and visual relationship
The two areas are connected by a long, narrow tube with paving. This tube is broken up by selective containers, furniture and decoration and the space is better organised. Two elongated planters made of the same material as the fountain, for example, line this path. The focus is on the lake, and the design supports this visual relationship. The pine tree below the terrace does not detract from the view of the lake either, on the contrary: its loose growth makes it a great eye-catcher.
A harmonious colour concept in modern grey and brown tones rounds off the design and emphasises the essentials: the lush green or red of the plants, the elegant planters, garden furniture and decorations.
