Dreamlike garden oasis with natural pool and counter-current system

On warm summer days, there is hardly anything better than treating yourself to a cool refreshment in your own garden. This project impressively demonstrates how a natural pool with a modern counter-current system can not only be used for swimming, but also as the central design element of a harmonious garden. The combination of natural aesthetics, clever technology and stylish materials makes this outdoor space a real feel-good place.

Planning and concept

Every successful garden design starts with a personal dialogue. In this case, the sporty client wanted a pool that could be used for daily swimming training as well as for relaxing hours. The design also needed to have a modern feel without compromising on naturalness. The planting deliberately avoided yellow and orange tones in order to create a calm and harmonious overall picture. These wishes were then implemented and recorded in the visualisations.

Naturalness and warmth through wood

Wood plays a key role in this garden. It conveys warmth and cosiness and creates an elegant appearance. The spacious wooden deck made of Sipo frames the natural pool and offers a high-quality, durable surface that is particularly suitable for sunny locations.

A practical bench with waterproof storage space has also been integrated next to the pool — ideal for elegantly storing towels or pool accessories. The continuous wooden design creates a visual unity and gives the installation a sophisticated, cosy ambience. On the opposite side, comfortable loungers invite you to sunbathe.

Another advantage of the wooden deck: the entire pool technology can be accommodated under the surface in a space-saving and unobtrusive manner. This means that the clear lines of the garden are maintained at all times.

Swimming in harmony with nature

The centrepiece of the garden is the natural pool, which has a special depth effect thanks to its anthracite-coloured lining. Thanks to state-of-the-art filter technology, the water remains free of chemicals — in the spirit of a sustainable bathing experience reminiscent of a clear mountain lake.

The integrated counter-current system is a real highlight. It transforms the pool into a training pool for athletic swimmers. The strength of the current can be conveniently controlled via an app so that swimming can be customised. After training, the pool transforms back into an oasis of calm — perfect for diving in and enjoying yourself.

The design is also impressive: an elegant corner staircase provides easy access, while handrails on the long sides offer safety and additional training comfort. The natural pool thus combines functionality, sportiness and aesthetics at the highest level.

Flowering accents and inviting seating areas

A staircase leads up from the pool deck to a raised seating area, which has been designed with wildly shaped natural stone slabs made from Maggia granite. Each slab is unique — together they form a harmonious overall picture that emphasises the natural character of the garden. Lounge furniture and a parasol have their place here — ideal for relaxing in the shade and letting your gaze wander over the water.

A curved garden path connects the areas and is lined with flowering perennials in soft shades of pink and purple. Lavender, rosemary and panicle hydrangeas lend the garden fragrance, colour and lightness — and create a paradise for bees and butterflies.

Harmony between water, wood and plants

This project shows how design, technology and nature can be combined to create a harmonious overall experience. The natural pool with counter-current system provides sporting activity and refreshing bathing fun, while the warm wooden elements and colourful planting create a sense of security and joie de vivre. A garden that appeals to all the senses — and invites you to linger all year round.
