Missed Giardina? Here are four sources of inspiration for your dream garden

It’s already March and spring is just around the corner. Although it is still rainy at the moment, it is already worth thinking about garden design. If you prepare early enough, nothing will stand in the way of your personal dream garden for the summer.

The Giardina

Giardina is the perfect place to gather inspiration for garden spaces. The indoor trade fair in Zurich showcases the latest trends and creative realisation options for your own garden. The trade fair runs until 16 March 2025, but don’t worry if you haven’t found the time to visit the event. Here are four other sources of inspiration that you can visit.

Tip 1: The Gartenvilla

Our partners at Gartenvilla offer everything your heart desires when it comes to outdoor design. In the show garden in Aathal-Seegräben you will find ideas for your personal patio and garden design. At Gartenvilla, you can see the various options on site and get advice. Our partner can help you with the choice of materials. From natural stone and granite slabs to various lighting options, you can take a closer look at everything and have the advantages and disadvantages explained to you.

Matching garden furniture and planters are also on display there. Here, Gartenvilla focusses on quality and aesthetics. Especially when it comes to furnishing your outdoor living room, you can play around and change things up a lot. The matching accessories are a must and can be a real eye-catcher in the garden. An even larger selection offers Amadeo Ambiente on. The webshop presents a variety of clay pots and lamps that can be used in the garden.

The element of water is not neglected in the show garden. Water has a calming effect and allows us to relax after a stressful day. In total there are Seven different pools to marvel at. The Swiss SPA pool with its sandy beach look brings the Mediterranean right to your doorstep. With the Living Pools, you can finally do without any chemicals as they clean themselves naturally. You will also find a mini pool, the so-called C‑Side Pool, in the Gartenvilla. This allows you to form your own opinion and incorporate the findings into the planning of your personal oasis of well-being.

In contrast to Giardina, you can visit Gartenvilla all year round. You can find the current opening hours here.

Tip 2: Pinterest

A popular online tool for garden inspiration is the Pinterest platform. On Pinterest, you can create your own album with your favourite pictures. This is how it works:

  1. Create an account on: www.pinterest.com
  2. Create a pinboard with a theme, such as «My dream garden with pool» or «Planting for the garden»
  3. Search for images that you like. Pinterest will automatically suggest new things to you
  4. Visit our Pinterest account. Here you will find many different suggestions for each garden theme that you can add to your pinboard

Tip 3: Advisor

Our website contains practical garden design guides, which are updated regularly. In the seven garden styles handbook, you can find out about the different ways in which your private garden can be designed and what you like best.

The planting options are explained in the manual for planting concepts. It also deals with your needs and how pronounced your green fingers are. Information is provided on low-maintenance options for your own garden or which plants are suitable for a green privacy screen.

The last guide deals with the topic of water and how the individual pools differ from one another. All types are covered and summarised briefly and succinctly to summarise the most important points. This gives you an overview of the individual properties and how they match your needs.

You can download the individual guides here:

Tip 4: References

We regularly photograph and report on our finished pieces of jewellery. From patio and garden design to pools, ponds and fountains, you will find plenty of inspiration for your personal outdoor living room. The gardens are always designed according to individual customer requirements. With the help of these references, you can quickly find out what should not be missing in your own green paradise. The photos are helpful during the initial consultation with a garden designer, as you can visualise your own wishes straight away. In addition, trends that are presented at Giardina can be shown using examples.
