Pool and space
The garden of this detached house has various lounge areas on two levels: The upper level invites you to relax by the house, while the lower level creates a harmonious atmosphere by the pool. The walls and steps separating the areas create beautiful and natural contrasts. The pool forms the centre of this garden with a cosy, covered wooden seating area that invites you to linger. The anthracite-coloured pergola creates an interesting interplay of light and shade. This scenery is bordered by borders with multi-stemmed small trees, while behind it a pebbled fire alcove with a small seating area ensures harmonious barbecue evenings. Evergreen yew hedges give the cosy spot a natural touch and are further broken up by pre-planted perennials, grasses, shrubs and small trees.
View of the pool and lawn
The pool and lawn can be seen from the higher living level with its spacious terrace. Lavender borders at the end create an atmospheric picture and form a soft edge. A wide staircase leading down to the water looks elegant and leaves plenty of open space. An existing plane tree was retained within the living area and incorporated into the concept. Together with the small wall, the plane tree forms a shady spot from which you can overlook the rest of the garden. The harmonious interplay of materials gives the garden a homely and cosy feel and the garden gains impact despite its manageable size.
