Garden trends 2021

As we do every year, we put together our personal garden trends of the year. This year in particular, the trend towards having your own pool has become even stronger and will continue to prevail in 2021. In addition to two special pools, we have also taken a closer look at four other garden trends.

1 — Natural pools

Clean pool water that doesn’t require chemicals and is gentle on the skin: that’s what natural pools are all about. Visually, pools with naturally purified water are no different to a conventional pool, as no planted regeneration zone is required and different pool lining options are also available.

The water is cleaned by an intelligent filter system technology — the tried and tested Living Pool technology — which removes the vital phosphate from the algae. Especially in times like these, when people are often at home and holidays by the sea are more difficult, having your own pool right on your doorstep is a real benefit. Unlike in the past, a pool can now be realised in a relatively short time. With a prefabricated pool basin, for example, the construction time is reduced enormously. If you start planning your pool in winter, you can enjoy your own swimming paradise as early as the next bathing season.

2 — Smart Garden

In the digital age, the smart garden is also becoming increasingly popular. Technical solutions support garden owners with maintenance and take over a large part of the work. Automatic irrigation provides plants with the optimum amount of water, while a robotic lawnmower takes care of mowing and maintains the lawn perfectly.

Today, these practical helpers can be controlled via an app: The Gardena Smart System combines all the information on your mobile phone or tablet and can be conveniently controlled on the move. Not only is it easy to maintain the garden, but the desired ambience with customised lighting can also be switched on and off via the app.

Our partner GardenTec is the specialist for technical solutions in the garden and on the patio.

3 — Wellness with the C‑Side Pool

The compact mini pool brings your own wellness oasis into the garden with little effort. Five different models of the C‑side pool cater for the most diverse needs. From massage seats, shallow water zones and deep water areas to fountain jets: a C‑side pool guarantees the desired luxury in your own garden. Thanks to its compact size, this type of warm water pool is also suitable for smaller gardens. A particular plus point is the robust surface made of glass mosaics in ten different colours, which provide different colour and light reflections.

4 — Natural garden

Our ecosystem is becoming increasingly unbalanced. Animal and plant species are dying out and nature is endangered. Biodiversity is supported by near-natural gardens and the avoidance of chemical pesticides. Native plants provide a habitat for bees, insects and butterflies and create nesting sites for small animals. Colourful flower meadows and fruit trees, which provide valuable food for insects, also help to promote biodiversity. Insect hotels are a wonderful way to support bees and insects and at the same time observe them at work. These can even be hung up on the patio or balcony.

In the online shop of Amadeo Ambiente such Insect hotels available.

5 — Fountain

The element of water has always had a special effect on us. The gentle splashing soothes and creates a romantic atmosphere. A beautifully designed fountain is also a special eye-catcher in the garden. A fountain can also be installed in small gardens, making it the centrepiece of the outdoor area. Whether a fountain is made of natural stone, metal or concrete, this versatile design element is extremely popular.

6 — Snack garden

Snacking on berries fresh from the bush and spicing up dishes with your own herbs: The trend towards self-sufficiency continues. The different types of berries, herbs and vegetables are planted in a separate bed and picked directly from your own garden. But even if you have less space, you don’t have to do without your own snack garden: Many varieties can also be planted in a raised bed or even in a pot. A wide variety of raised beds are now available on the market. They enable back-friendly gardening and some are equipped with castors that allow the bed to be moved even after planting. Raised beds with an integrated shelf for storing gardening accessories are particularly practical.

In the Online shop from Amadeo Ambiente you will find a large selection of raised beds and pots for your own snack garden.
