Fountain and herb garden
The eye-catching fountain in this garden runs like a mirror through the gravelled surface. The water reflects the sky in a long, narrow rust-steel basin. The basin also harbours water lettuce with lush, light green leaves. The low-maintenance garden not only offers plenty of greenery to look at, but also to eat. Just around the corner is head after head of lettuce. The square vegetable beds framed by rusty steel prove that a kitchen garden can also be modern and stylish.
Framed by yews
The entire section of the garden has no lawn or flat greenery. The existing paving merges seamlessly into the gravelled area, which is bordered by yew hedges of varying heights. Yellow-flowering daylilies set bright accents and contrast with the strict dark green of the yews with their grass-like structure. The high hedges are also interrupted by stone pillars. The highlights of the verticals are the green-leaved Japanese maple in the gravel and the hanging Judas tree in the anthracite-coloured square planter.
Different materials for a harmonious overall look
Although many different materials are used in this garden, they blend into a harmonious overall picture. The rust-steel basin of the fountain stands out from the lush green planting thanks to its reddish colour. At the same time, the gravel and the base plates provide a pleasant transition to the planting. The grey planters also help the various plants and trees in the garden to stand out.
