Planning during periods of isolation

Spring can be felt and yet it is quieter outside than usual at this time of year. Restaurants are closed and even the avenues around beautiful Lake Zurich are cordoned off for safety’s sake. Our home is currently a place where we spend much more time than usual. So it’s all the nicer when we can use our gardens and terraces to catch the sun’s rays.

But what does it look like if the redesign of the outdoor area was planned for this year? Our Managing Director Pascal Eberle tells us in an online interview how planning remains possible and personal even without physical contact.

How is the PARC’S team currently working?

„Our entire team is currently working from home. In addition to our weekly team meeting, which we hold via live chat, we are in constant contact. Be it via chat portal, video transmissions or by phone: the information channels remain short and uncomplicated. Regular dialogue is particularly important now during social distancing.“

What work can still be done for our customers be done for our customers?

„Fortunately, our customers have not had to do without any of our services so far. Thanks to the technical aids, meetings via video chat, telephone or traditional e‑mail are possible without restriction. This means that all phases from concept to realisation can still be implemented. During construction supervision, it is of course important to observe the regulations and, in particular, to keep a safe distance.“

For example, how is an initial inspection of the garden carried out?

„We have two options here: During a face-to-face meeting on site, we ensure that the safety distance is maintained and try to minimise the time spent together with the customer in the garden and discuss the essentials on site. We can then continue the detailed inspection on our own. This means we don’t spend too long in the garden together and can clarify any questions afterwards by phone.

For the most part, however, we announce our visit and make the initial inspection of the garden alone. As usual, the visits are documented with photos and videos. The measurements can also be taken without the client being present. In a subsequent meeting by telephone, we explain our analysis, talk about possible changes and record the client’s needs and wishes as in a regular initial meeting. This close dialogue with our customers is still a priority for us and, thanks to today’s technology and the flexibility of our team, can be implemented without restrictions even during these times.“

How can garden and patio owners make the most of this time?

„Detailed planning is essential for the smooth running of a patio or garden remodelling project. The time can be put to excellent use to work out this planning together with PARC’S. Especially now, it is important for many of our customers to implement their plans quickly, as some trips abroad have already been cancelled. Our slogan „Gardens like a holiday“ fits better than ever before for precisely this reason. Of course, the time it takes to complete a garden varies depending on the requirements (e.g. delivery times for pool basins are somewhat longer), but we can generally realise individual retreat oases quickly thanks to long-standing and trusting partnerships.

What strikes us in particular is that many garden lovers and patio owners use their time at home to search for ideas. They collect pictures — physically and, above all, electronically — and make collages of ideas. Our reference images are particularly popular for such purposes.“
