The existing paving merges seamlessly into the gravelled area, which is bordered by yew hedges of varying heights. Yellow-flowering daylilies set bright accents and contrast with the strict dark green of the yews with their grass-like structure. The high hedges are also interrupted by stone pillars. The highlights of the verticals are the green-leaved Japanese maple in the gravel and the hanging Judas tree in the anthracite-coloured square
