Private garden with wooden deck and natural planting

Small garden with wooden deck

This reference is a small garden bijoux in Rapperswil. The striking element is undoubtedly the wooden footbridge. It leads through the small garden like a red thread, accompanied by three Japanese maples and green islets of ornamental grass and cranberries. On the left side of the wooden walkway is the plain part of the garden with a chaussage and treads made of Luserna gneiss. Opposite blooms a wild border that the clientele had requested as an experimental area.

Customer wishes implemented

The client wanted a thoroughly styled but low-maintenance garden with the possibility for creative development. In the experimental area, customers can also plant something themselves once in a while without disturbing the design concept. On the contrary, the colorful border is an important design element in this garden. It also provides privacy and hides the flat roof of the adjacent house in front of it. Nevertheless, it ensures the visual relationship with Lake Zurich and provides a wonderful view.

From the study to the terrace

The wooden terrace is located in the back of the garden and is accessible from the inside through the study. Here, the two wooden boxes form a fixed lounge element that provides storage space and therefore also has a functional use. The natural stone wall made of Luserna gneiss closes the terrace against the adjacent wall and adds charm and warmth to the space. Above the wall, lavender and wall pepper bloom in summer.

The transformation of the garden is amazing. Where previously dominated a long, unstructured hose, is now a cozy, lively and low-maintenance garden dream.
