If you look down from the upper entrance to the house towards the lake, the boundaries between garden and landscape seem to disappear. Airy grasses and flowering shrubs dominate the garden design of this villa garden, which is laid out on different levels due to the hillside location.

This garden is one of the 50 most beautiful gardens in the entire German-speaking region in 2019. In addition, this garden was honoured with an award and is one of the 6 best objects in 2019!
Swimming pool in the centre
The client wanted a swimming pool with a large terrace and sunbathing area. Thanks to the large pool terrace, every path leads to the pool, making it the centre of the garden. In particular, the wide steps from the basement to the water connect the property with its surroundings in an open and light way. The chrome steel basin of the swimming pool gives the water a unique shimmer and lends the design a modern elegance.
Maritime flair
The entire garden is accessed via a set of wooden steps. Landings are repeatedly formed from the steps, which connect to the house entrances at different levels. The terrain around the steps was modelled in a flowing manner and here too the choice of plants — grasses and elegant hydrangeas — supports the gentle overall appearance. Wood was used for the entire staircase, the sunbathing area and the pool terrace, giving the garden both a warm cosiness and a maritime flair.
Airy planting with grasses and hydrangeas
Grasses (Pennisetum alopecuroides and Miscanthus sinensis) have been planted around the pool towards the lake, which exude a lightness and are wonderfully reflected in the water. The result is a veritable sea of grasses that creates a flowing transition to the surroundings and provides an unobstructed view of the lake. The solitary trees, for which multi-stemmed yews were used, are unusual. They stand rather rigidly in the surroundings, creating a great contrast to the soft look of the grass planting.
