Dream garden with swimming pond

Swimming pond highlight

The clients of this large property wanted a spacious swimming pond in their existing garden. Below the embanked lawn, at the lowest point of the garden, the curved shape of the subsequently planned swimming pond nestles perfectly into the existing structures. The swimming pond thus becomes the connecting element between the breathtaking view of the lake and your own garden.

From the wooden deck into the water

From the wooden deck in the upper area, you can look out over the entire garden from the cosy lounge and enjoy the view of the lake and mountains. Almost as if you were floating. At the back of the lounge, an old, existing tree creates a cosy atmosphere and provides shade on sunny days. The wide wooden staircase leads down to the swimming pond and is taken up again as a sun deck on the left-hand side of the swimming pond. The irregular step height — sometimes at sitting height, sometimes at step height — invites active use of the steps and enlivens them as a seating and lounging area.

Connecting plants and materials

The existing red Jura quartz sandstone paving can appear very dominant, but was skilfully combined with the swimming pond: The paving was taken up again in the form of stepping slabs and as an edging for the swimming pond, harmonising with the new design. Reeds, lavender and boxwood surround the swimming pond on both sides and the tall trees behind the regeneration zone create a gentle transition to the neighbouring woodland.
