Detached house with pool

Cosy niche by the water

The client of this grand and modern house with wooden panelling wanted a private pool in the garden of the detached house. The previously monotonous garden with a lawn around the house was redesigned and enhanced by a pool with concrete surround. Thanks to retaining walls, the pool could be built at the very edge of the garden, making optimum use of the garden space.

The previously unused canopy, which incorporates the material of the house façade through the new wooden deck, forms a recreational area right by the water. Dark steel troughs with evergreen plants serve as a privacy screen and at the same time as fall protection on the newly created area. A spacious bench and lounger can be used as storage space and, together with the deliberately chosen furniture, as a cosy spot by the water.

A wooden terrace on the side of the house, which was previously clearly visible, was fitted with a wall along the boundary as a privacy screen. The espalier trees in front and a solitary planter on the terrace provide a special eye-catcher and additional privacy. Borders around the house further loosen up the lawn and the overall picture.

Harmonious entrance area

On the other side of the garden, where a trampoline sunk into the ground invites you to jump, a wooden wall serves as a privacy screen. A small kitchen garden has given way to a gravelled area with a bench. This area also provides access to the garden, which is surrounded by ornamental grasses, flowering shrubs and characterful specimen trees. A multi-stemmed birch in the entrance area rises up through the canopy and creates a light overall impression with its loose crown. The ornamental grasses chosen emphasise this image and make the entrance area and garage forecourt homely, light and soft. Character trees, ornamental grasses and hydrangeas to the side of the entrance create a great sight when you come home.
