Hydrangea paniculata in garden design
Hydrangea paniculata is a perennial flowering panicle hydrangea that is beautiful even after it has faded due to its distinctive inflorescence. In late summer, when other flowering shrubs have already faded, Hydrangea paniculata makes its grand entrance and sets points of light in the garden design. Depending on the variety, the cone-shaped inflorescences change color toward the end of the blooming season. Hydrangea paniculata likes a sunny to semi-shady location in a nutrient-rich humus-rich soil.
It combines well with grasses and other perennials and adds interesting splashes of color to the garden design. However, its impressive flowers make the panicle hydrangea a highlight in any garden, even without companions. The panicle hydrangea can be cut back in spring or fall (recommended), so that strong new shoots can form.
