„Gardens of the Year 2019“ award“
Callwey Verlag and the magazine „Garten + Landschaft“ were once again looking for the most beautiful private gardens in German-speaking countries this year. We submitted three of our reference projects and took part in the competition with great success: All three projects made it into the 50 most beautiful private gardens of 2019, and one of them was even voted one of the six most beautiful private gardens. The renowned jury placed particular emphasis on holistic concepts that turn the garden into an extended living and enjoyment space in a personalised way.

Airy grasses and flowering shrubs dominate the garden design of this villa garden with a view of Lake Zurich. Due to the hillside location, the garden is laid out on different levels and has a pool with a large terrace, which forms the centre of the garden and is accessible from every area. The light planting of airy grasses creates a veritable sea of grasses, which creates a flowing transition to the surroundings and allows an unobstructed view of the lake. The wooden design of the steps and pool area creates a warm and cosy overall impression.

This beautiful dream garden with its impressive floral fireworks is characterised by a romantic atmosphere. Thanks to its straight lines, consistency and tranquillity, this garden exudes charm and is a wonderful place to linger. Smaller spaces have been unobtrusively integrated into the design, while the carefully selected planting emphasises the striking lines. A special highlight is the low natural stone wall, which connects the different levels of the garden and is also a striking, decorative yet discreet element in the garden. This dream garden also graces the cover of the „Gardens of the Year 2019“ book.

The centrepiece of this garden design is a gently rippling fountain with three semi-circular fountains. The centre of the garden is reached via a warm wooden deck and a natural gravel path that surrounds the garden. A cosy seating area is gently set back from the lawn with a step: from here you can enjoy pleasant hours in a harmonious atmosphere. Varied planting rounds off the harmonious garden design and provides interesting splashes of colour.
