Gardens of the Year 2020: Three of our gardens are included!

We participated in the competition "The most beautiful gardens 2019". The prestigious jury has chosen three of our projects among the 50 most beautiful private gardens and awarded one of them with a distinction.

The Callwey publishing house and the magazine "Garten + Landschaft" were looking for the most beautiful private gardens in the German-speaking region for the fifth time. We submitted three of our reference projects and participated in the competition with great success: All three projects made it into the 50 most beautiful private gardens 2020. The renowned jury placed particular emphasis on holistic concepts in the selection, which let the garden become an extended living and enjoyment space in an individual way.

We are very proud of the award and are pleased to present our three award-winning gardens here:

Trees like sculptures - A garden full of character

Large trees, airy grasses and clean lines with playful gravel paths dominate this garden design. Scots pines (Pinus sylvestris) with deeply fissured bark soar amidst the gentle planting, forming veritable sculptures that give the garden a mystical character. Newly created levels have made it possible to gently divide the garden. A special highlight is the water feature in the central part of the garden. From every vantage point, one looks directly at the fantastic water spouts, while the planters placed behind them with an illuminated maple further accentuate the fountain.

The pictures of this garden are a very special highlight. They adorn the cover of the book "Gardens of the Year 2020" and even in the magazine Dream House this garden transformation was represented and inspires many readers.

Detached house with pool - Modern and cozy

This garden of a grand and modern family house with wooden cladding was redesigned and enhanced by a pool with concrete surround. Thanks to retaining walls, the pool could be built at the far edge of the garden, making the most of the garden's space. The previously unused canopy, which picks up the material of the facade through the new wooden deck, creates a recreational area directly on the water. On the side of the house, a wall with espaliered trees in front of it serves as a privacy screen. In the entrance area, a multi-stemmed birch tree protrudes through the canopy and, with its loose crown, creates a light and airy overall appearance.

This water garden was executed by the pool construction professional egli jona ag.

Oasis in the middle of a winery - natural and elegant

This garden is used with pleasure not only by the owners, but also by their guests. The garden with vines for the in-house wine production offers a generous and unique area for tastings. A U-shaped wooden deck in front of the unique winter garden offers a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. A fountain in the middle of the gravel area is the center of the garden and forms a beautiful conclusion to the vines. The lateral natural stone wall next to the fountain can be used as a seating element and gives the garden additional structure. New planting emphasizes the simple and elegant style of the garden.

This project was planned together with our partner egli jona ag and executed by them. Subsequently, the horticulturist has submitted this project to the Gardens of the Year 2020. We are of course very pleased to celebrate this award together with you!
